"While in residence at Gillingham School, the artist was introduced to the high art of cricket by the ascended master of the game, Syd Symons. Syd's love of the game is legendary. He plays cricket with an eye towards social dynamics. It is hard to describe the subtlety of Syd's considerations when he is captaining the team. I continue to be impressed with the profound complexities available in any practice that one cares to do well. This is a homage to the human capacity to take something to heart."   Marc Lancet.
