Gillingham School 'A' Level Art & Photography Exhibition
June 16 -24  2001

Saturday 16th June saw the opening of an exhibition at The Slade Centre in Gillingham for the 12 A-level Art & Photography students from Gillingham School who are staging their final shows of paintings, sculpture and photography.

The exhibition forms part of the students' A-level examination. Each student must include one piece of work produced under controlled test conditions, examples of course work, portfolios and personal studies.

The students, many of whom will continue their Art training after leaving the school, have used a wide range of materials and new media to explore their ideas. Many have based work on the local environment, but school trips to London, Venice and New York have also provided excitement and stimulation.
