Out of the woods

Following Salisbury Festival's  'In Praise of Trees' and June's Woodland Fair at Springhead, curated by the Centre's Anne Hitchcock, The Slade Centre's autumn exhibition combines diverse  work from a group of talented local furniture makers with 2-D wood-related content and  bonsai.

Artists new to The Slade Centre include Hilary Turnbull, Joan & Henry Haig, Rupert Farthing, Janet Perrior, Fiona Kingston and Richard Jeffrey .

Over the weekend of 21st/22nd September Reg Budd will be demonstrating his woodcarving skills on the newly completed balcony.

James Harvey's Rocking Hippo,  Peter Moors' Storyteller Seat made from coppiced hazel, and Reg's Green Oak benches represent very different approaches to working with wood. 

The exhibition is open Saturday Sep. 21 to Sunday Oct. 6th (Thursday to Sunday) 
from 10:30am to 5:00pm (late until 8:00pm Fridays).
